environment that allows them to function most independently. To facilitate a
spectrum of residential options so that individuals with developmental delays
are able to live in the environment that best suits their needs.
... To assist individuals in becoming productive members of society by
developing their vocational or leisure skills so that during the daytime, they
are engaged in fulfilling pursuits.
... To assist individuals in developing social networks and leisure
options so that during their spare time, they are engaged in fulfilling
pursuits.
... To enhance the dignity and respect of individuals by assisting
personal participation in decision making, by respecting the individual's
privacy, and by using teaching methods that protect the individual's
self-esteem.
