YOU ARE THE FILMMAKER

ON SEPTEMBER 10TH, SHOW THE WORLD WHAT IT MEANS TO BE CANADIAN

Canada In A Day will capture one day in our lives. No matter where you are, in Canada or around the world, during those 24 hours – any time from 12AM to 11:59PM on September 10th – record yourself and show us your story.

Canada In A Day is a country-wide project built from crowd-sourced footage filmed by YOU that will be uploaded BY YOU and then crafted into a celebration of Canadian stories by award-winning director Trish Dolman. The finished film will air on CTV in Summer 2017, as part of our country’s 150th anniversary celebration.

From many of these individual stories will come a film that shows who we are as a country in this one moment in time. A time capsule for Canada.

We want all Canadians to be part of this amazing event. Show us how you feel, what moves you and what concerns you. Your film, your voice, your chance to speak to Canada and the world.

We want your voice to be heard.

This is open to all Canadian citizens and permanent residents.

ONE DAY IN THE LIFE OF CANADA: SEPTEMBER 10TH, 2016

FOUR QUESTIONS

Show the world what it means to be you, and what matters to you. Be creative, honest, and real. Show us your passions, loves, fears, hopes and dreams.

Make it real. Make it you.

Here are four questions that we hope will help you decide what to film. Use them to inspire whatever it is you choose to film.

  • WHAT DO YOU LOVE?
  • WHAT DO YOU FEAR?
  • WHAT DO YOU HOPE FOR?
  • WHAT DOES CANADA MEAN TO YOU?

Love at Second Sight is a 25 minute film that transforms attitudes about appearance and encourages acceptance of self and others. It’s about difference and belonging, judgment and inclusion. Join us for the premier screening of the film, followed by a short Q&A period and a reception.
