Highlights: This is an exciting opportunity to take on a primary role of "caregiver" in a young man's life. This is a key role in a collaborative team approach to the building of a "good life" for "F". You will live with the individual in his home. The successful candidate will need to understand F's extraordinary gifts and to make accomodations for what can be difficult about living with F. We are looking for someone who recognizes the need to commit to this young man. You do not necessarily have to have experience within community living, but do need to be emotionally strong, resilient, and very capable. You should embrace the challenge of supporting F at this point in his life. Good coping skills in relation to your own emotional regulation would be important for your self care. A good personal network is key to maintaning your health. As cornerstone in F's support network, it will be crucial to be an honest communicator and to be willing to take the time to communicate with the key people in F's life. A collaborative style of working is also important to working as a part of a team. You must be willing to work very closely with this support network that consists of family, friends and F's supporters. This position is best suited for a single caregiver. Compensation will be a tax-free salary with room and board. F will have staffed support Monday-Friday from 4:30pm-12am, and Sat-Sun from 8am-12am. Every second weekend from 7pm Fri until 2 pm Sun F goes to his family's home.

Rate of pay: As per current pay scale
Probation: 3 months
Driving requirements: Driving not required,
Special training or experience required: Dealing with challenging behavior, Computer proficiency (email, Word, internet usage),
Preferred training or experience: Excellent stress management skills
Expected hours of work: Mon - Fri - 8am - 4:30 pm, Mon - Sun overnights 12am - 8 am, Every second weekend you are off from 4:30 pm Fri until 12 am Sun.
