Spectrum’s new strategic plan provides us with direction for the next three years and identifies our priorities for training and support. Each week for the next five weeks we will review one of the goals of the strategic plan. For each of these goals, we will set yearly action plans and review our progress at the end of the year. Goal Three is focused on leadership development and succession planning. Ernie Baatz and Susan Stanfield have been with Spectrum since the beginning and will eventually retire. The initiatives under this goal seek to design a process of succession planning that nurtures future leaders while ensuring the unique culture, values and practices of Spectrum are protected. This will include documenting and preserving the founders’ experience and unique approach to community living.
