November is Indigenous Disability Awareness Month in BC!

The British Columbia Aboriginal Network on Disability Society (BCANDS) created Indigenous Disability Awareness Month  in 2015 to raise awareness and celebrate the overlooked contributions made by First Nations, Métis and Inuit people with disabilities in communities across the province of BC, and address the unique challenges and barriers they face.

Immunization Record - Vancouver Community College

Appointment invitations for both COVID boosters and influenza vaccines are being sent out to those who have registered with BC’s Get Vaccinated System. You are able to book both in the same appointment for greater convenience! If you have recently recovered from a COVID infection, it is perfectly safe to receive a COVID vaccine after recently recovering from all symptoms.

If you need help booking your appointment, or have any questions, please call 1-833-838-2323 between 7am to 7pm every day, or 9am to 5pm on statutory holidays, with translators available. For people who are deaf, there are telephone services available by calling 711.

Nikkei Craft Fair

The Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre is hosting their 21st annual craft fair! There will be more than 90 local artisans, craft workshops and food vendors. Click here to see the vendor list. Admission for each day is $5, with free admission for those 17 and under, and 65 and over.

Eastside Culture Crawl

The Eastside Arts Society’s (EAS) Culture Crawl Visual Arts, Design & Craft Festival is returning for their 27th year! Artists in the Eastside will be opening their studios to the public, and workshops and demonstrations will be held to increase the understanding and appreciation for the varied art expressions in Vancouver’s Eastside.

A core value of EAS is ensuring their events are as accessible to as many people as possible. They encourage anyone with questions, concerns or suggestion to reach out through email.
