Growing Leadership at Spectrum

We believe everyone has strengths and gifts — and anyone can be a leader when those gifts are put to work. At Spectrum, we support people to grow into roles with more responsibility, so they can contribute in new ways and help strengthen the support we offer.

Our Approach

Leadership development at Spectrum is practical and person-centred. Learning happens through real work, mentorship, formal training, and regular reflection. The skills you build will be useful every day.

How It Works

We create development plans together with each person and their supervisor. These plans focus on a few clear goals and practical activities. A mentor — an experienced staff member — meets one-to-one to reflect, share feedback, and help design steps that build confidence and skill.

Who Can Join?

Anyone can ask for a development plan, and supervisors can recommend staff with consent. Having a plan doesn’t guarantee a promotion, but it does mean you’ll get support, clear expectations, and chances to try new responsibilities in a safe way.
