For employees who are enrolled in the health and dental plans, you will notice on your payslips that the rates have gone up, effective May 1, 2025. The overall increase in costs is 19.8%. Here are the details of the increases:
Most of these costs are covered by Spectrum. Only Long Term Disability has a portion paid by the employee and the benefit of this is that benefits paid are then tax free if an employee is off work beyond 17 weeks due to illness or injury.
If you purchased any of the optional life and disability coverages, those rates did not change this year.
