‘A’ is looking for a new support person to join his team and support him to spend time in the community.
This is a great opportunity to support a man living in Vancouver (Dunbar) who loves painting, arts and crafts, cooking and gardening.
Duties and Responsibilities:
A typical day with ‘A’ might include either going out for lunch or assisting him to pack his own lunch to enjoy in the community. In nice weather, he likes to have picnics outdoors. Frequenting a couple of centers in his community for a visit, and cooking classes are among ‘A’s favourite daily activities to participate in. He also enjoys watching TV and going to the movies. He collects recyclable bottles once a week which he takes to a recycling center.
‘A’ requires some assistance with personal care, this would include some verbal prompting for use of the washroom, shaving, brushing teeth, or getting dressed. A support person is also needed to accompany ‘A’ to appointments with his doctor.
‘A’ likes to set goals and plan his day with his support staff. Some days he likes to go out and spend time in the community, while on others he may choose to do an activity at home like painting or gardening.
