Highlights:

SB is looking for someone to balance out her dedicated support team. SB is fun to work with which is why she has so many fantastic long term staff. She lives with a cat and has a roommate. SB appreciates a balance of fun, quiet and healthy activity. She enjoys movies, theatre and sailing, just to name a few of her interests.

SB is usually a quiet communicator and uses a pictorial book to communicate with you. She also uses eye movement and body language to let you know what she needs. It takes a bit of time to learn her communication style but once you do it is easy to communicate with her.


Duties and Responsibilities:

You will help SB with all her personal care. She has a ceiling lift to help with transfers. SB also has a feeding tube. SB’s team helps her get to appointments and any other activities during the day.

All training is provided.


Reports to:

Program Manager


Rate of Pay:

CSW: $24.50/hour to $26.65/hour


Probation:

3 months


Driving Requirement:

Driver's license (Class 4)


Preferred Training or Experience:

Spectrum Society for Community Living will cover the costs associated with obtaining your Class 4 license including:

ICBC costs, medical report cost, and six hours of driving / training time for the employee to prepare for and take their test. We will also pay for renewal costs for employees getting their class 4 licenses renewed.

Successful candidate will be eligible for benefits after passing 3 month probationary period, including extended health, dental, MSP, and MPP.


Specific Training or Experience Required:

  • Supporting People who get anxious
  • Ability to motivate, encourage and engage the interests of others.
  • Computer proficiency (email, Word, internet usage)
