Canada Disability Benefit Begins July 1 2025

The Canada Disability Benefit (CDB) is an upcoming federal benefit for working-age people with disabilities. It aims to address the disproportionate level of poverty experienced by people with disabilities and to improve their financial security.

To be eligible for the CDB, you must:

How much is the benefit?

The maximum benefit amount is $2,400 a year, or $200 a month. The payment amount you receive will be based on your income and other factors.

When will I begin receiving payments?

Payments will begin in July 2025 and will be made monthly. Applications for the CDB will open in June. There are steps you can take now to prepare for the application.
