International Day of Persons with Disabilities Film Festival 2017
Sunday, December 3, 2017 – 7:00pm – 10:00pm
The 3rd annual UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities Film Festival explores the representation of disability in film. This year we’ve partnered with the National Film Board to present a 2-hour program of short films and conversation from the early public broadcast films of the 1960s to now including the world premiere of Inclusion BC Foundation’s own film Disability Pride 2017!
Date: December 3rd, 2017 7:00PM
Location: Anvil Centre Theatre 777 Columbia Street New Westminster (across the street from the New West SkyTrain station)
Join us at 6:00 pm that same night for the closing reception of Big House: Selections from “From the Inside/OUT!” 1998. When the last residents of Woodlands were preparing their move to community, the BC Self Advocacy Foundation initiated a project to record memories and feelings of people who had lived in large institutions. Survivors worked with artist Persimmon Blackbridge to create these pieces. The exhibition is in the community art space at the Anvil Center from October 5 – December 3, 2017.
