Fire Ball Art Show

Tuesday, October 11, 2016 – 1:15pmFriday, December 9, 2016 – 5:00pm
New Westminster

Date: October 14th to December 3rd, 2016
Location: Anvil Centre, 777 Columbia Street, New Westminster (Across the street from the New West Skytrain Station)

Throughout the month of October, communities across BC are promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity, bringing awareness to the strengths and abilities of people with intellectual disabilities. Opening during Community Inclusion Month and closing on International Day of Persons with Disabilities Inclusion BC Foundation is mounting an exhibition called Fire Ball, showcasing the vibrant and visceral talent of artists with intellectual disabilities.

The works that make up the show are the result of a high-octane day tour of Community Inclusion art studios starting in our headquarter city, New Westminster, where we visited Pottery Works brand new location just around the corner on Victoria Street, Artists Helping Artists in Burnaby, Bridge Art Studio in Langley and Alternative Creations in Vancouver.

Gravitating to paintings and drawings that depict the natural world, its disasters and demons the works of Fire Ball are brazen in their points of views and as supernatural as BC itself.

Fire Ball runs from Oct 11th – Dec 9th in the Anvil Centre Community Art Space. Opening night is Friday, October 14th from 5-7pm featuring a tour, bar and meet and greet with the artists. Closing night is December 3rd, the evening of our Film Festival.
