Deepi Leihl Reports on HandyDart and Animal Rights

Introduction

My name is Deepi Leihl. I was asked by Amy Tutkaluke to tell my story in the  Spectrum Newsletter.

Just a little bit about me, I was born with a disability called Metatrophic Dwarfism. I have lived my whole life in Richmond BC with my family that includes; Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister-in-law, 2 Dogs, and a twin sister who is 6 minutes older than me. At this present time, I go to UBC to train and volunteer as a News correspondent for CiTR News 101.

I am studying  journalism and broadcasting program. I am pursuing my passion and gaining experience in my chosen profession. So far, I have broadcasted two News stories that cover HandyDART and Animals Rights.

I chose these 2 topics because I am passionate about them and want to create awareness. I also had the privilege to co-host an event sponsored by INcommom.TV story-telling and continue to be part of their online project.

If you would like to know more about me and my stories you can ask Amy for my contact information amy.tutkaluke@spectrumsociety.org ~ phone 604-323-1433 ext 219.
