New Year… New Goals… New Job… New Community Involvement. .
Written by Karen Lai, Employment Connector
Welcome to 2018! Quite often, a new year means a time to make new resolutions, new goals, and new commitments! What are your plans for 2018? Quite often, it is a time to push the reset button and start fresh over!
My goal is to work with more people to look for new employment opportunities… what meets their skills and their talents? Have you ever thought about what kind of work you want to do? I would like to work with people who desire to find a new volunteer opportunity or a new paid employment!
You may be the individual who has never ever thought of work or giving back. My answer to this is to give it a try! You will never know until you try… try new things with curiosity, we don’t know our limits until we give it a try! This is so much more applicable to people with disabilities as quite often other people define us by our disabilities, and what we can’t do. However, each individual needs to be allowed to define themselves and how their disability fits into their own lives. Be curious about your own abilities, your own limits, and where your gifts shine!
2018 promises to be a good year… hope that this ring true for many of you!
