Highlights:
GA is an energetic and fun guy to be around. He loves keeping busy, going to movies, swimming, going for walks and feeding ducks, watching airplanes at the airport and WWE. He needs someone with a calm presence who can help him connect with his community and assist with his daily life and activities, building relationships with family members, and helping GA develop his relationships. He is close with his family who are a big part of his network.
The successful candidate will have keen and accurate observation and assessment skills, be a quick study, able to follow instructions as well as be able to intuit what needs to be done. Must be able to work effectively as a team member, participate in staff meetings and successfully and genuinely connect with families.
This position suits someone who has good boundaries & experience with supporting someone who expresses himself with complex behaviors, as well as someone who is reliable and responsible.
Successful hiring will be dependent on a successful interview with GA’s family.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete documentation
- Communicate concerns/issues to manager and fellow staff
- Double check medication administration
- Daily and Monthly deep cleaning tasks
- Light cooking/meal prep.

Preferred Training or Experience:
- Prior experience with supporting someone who expresses himself with complex behaviours to get his needs met.
- Someone who shows the ability to comprehend and consistently follow support protocols and programs.
- Mandt or NVCI certification
- Very clear and effective communication skills.
- Excellent observational skills.
- Creative thinker with the ability to think several steps ahead of what’s actually happening.
Specific Training or Experience Required:
- Supporting People who live with an acquired brain injury
- Ability to motivate, encourage and engage the interests of others.
- Computer proficiency (email, Word, internet usage)
