Position Status:

Highlights:

JS has recently moved to Sechelt (May) after living his whole life in Vancouver. Lately, it had been feeling overly busy and not always safe and he was interested in relocating with his caregiver to a quieter community that felt welcoming and with a slower pace.

JS is looking for some help from a CSW to get to know his new community, establish connections and get involved in the things that interest him:  gaming, chess, game development.  He’d like to become comfortable with the local transit system and wants some help with that and needs help in the form of someone to walk alongside him in order to be able to get to his activities on time.

He is not a morning person.  He appreciates kindness and peacefulness and the right fit for him is someone with good humour and a quietly motivating style; one that he does not find overwhelming.  He would love a “fellow creative mind”; someone who would enjoy talking about his creative projects or sharing their own creative projects.

JS is Indigenous.  A supporter who is also Indigenous would be something that he’d be interested in though says it’s not a deal breaker if he gets a good feeling about an applicant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • support with the areas where lack of executive functioning exists for JS:  planning, prioritizing, time management, task initiation,
    flexibility.
  • assisting JS to find community resources and supports for his areas of interest
