Takes place as: 6 hours weekly on Thursdays; 3pm to 9pm plus one 8-hr shift monthly on a Saturday or Sunday, to be scheduled in advance to take part in a planned event around town.

Highlights:

Support to a fairly active woman in her 40’s who is not a homebody.  She uses her support hours to be out of her home in any weather.  Looking for a “live-wire” personality to accompany her and provide physical assistance as needed while she’s taking part in any of a variety of her regular activities (swimming/kyaking/skiiing/checking out events around town/being active in her local community).  Ideally someone who’s a good conversationalist, with a great sense of humour and a go-getter personality.  Someone who brings ideas as well and is self-motivated and punctual but also flexible in order to take advantage of any new opportunities that may present each week.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Some physical support with dressing/undressing, meal preparation and light housekeeping may also be part of any given shift.  Generally, making plans to take part in a local activity and to support A , as needed in those settings.  A directs all of her own service support.

Rate of Pay:

CSW: $24.50/hour to $26.65/hour


Probation:

3 months


Driving Requirement:

Driver's license (Class 5)

Specific Training or Experience Required:

  • Supporting People who get anxious
  • Ability to motivate, encourage and engage the interests of others.
  • Computer proficiency (email, Word, internet usage)
