Highlights:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as support staff members for a 36-year-old individual on the autism spectrum. This role involves fostering a person-centered, team-oriented approach to promote independence, connection, and community engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting an individual who thrives with structured routines and visual schedules. This person enjoys active pursuits such as biking, swimming, skating, and scooter riding, as well as quieter activities like playing piano and badminton. They prefer solitary activities but can join group settings with patient and encouraging support.
In this role, you will:
- Communicate effectively, respecting the individual’s need for extra time to process and respond.
- Support some personal care needs, ensure home hygiene, and promote health routines.
- Foster participation in recreational activities and explore opportunities for community involvement.
- Encourage social interactions, emotional well-being, and the development of meaningful relationships.
- Ensure safety and supervision in all settings, with particular attention to outdoor and public spaces.
- Provide evening and overnight support at home and in the community (Saturday overnight to Sunday morning).

- Has experience or interest in supporting someone with autism or similar needs.

Rate of Pay:
CSW: $24.50/hour to $26.65/hour
Probation:
3 months
Driving Requirement:
Driver's license (Class 5)

Specific Training or Experience Required:
- Supporting People who get anxious
- Ability to motivate, encourage and engage the interests of others.
- Computer proficiency (email, Word, internet usage)
