Highlights:
JT is a feisty, loving and fun-loving woman who is seeking a female support worker to assist her in her home and community depending on her health at any given time. She’s got clear preference for people who are super-relaxed in their demeanour and have a silly/playful/animated personality. One would need to be VERY comfortable with a Large, gentle dog who will be present and is important to JT. Helpful to have some experience supporting people who need intimate care support and who are medically fragile. It’s important to keep one’s physical health a priority to minimize contagion and keep JT safe. Sturdy with physical strength is necessary. JT is small statured but requires support mobilizing when she’s not feeling strong. All training for hygiene and feeding will take place once both are comfortable with one another; not immediately.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to use technology (for Sharevision Journal entries)
- Easily comfortable and respectful in the Individual’s family home where other family members are present and involved.
- Intimate hygiene care support
- Feeding assistance and medications via G-tube
- Being creative with sharing ideas of different activities
Reports to:
Program Manager
Rate of Pay:
CSW: $24.50/hour to $26.65/hour
Probation:
3 months
Driving Requirement:
Driving not required
Preferred Training or Experience:
- willingness to learn all aspects of JT’s support needs to carry them out properly.
- EXCELLENT, demonstrated observational skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills necessary
Specific Training or Experience Required:
- Supporting People who get anxious
- Ability to motivate, encourage and engage the interests of others.
- Computer proficiency (email, Word, internet usage)
